About the Role

As a school caretaker, you will be reliable and proactive at a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school. This role is vital to maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Carry out daily maintenance tasks, repairs, and general upkeep of the school premises.
2. Ensure the site is clean, secure, and compliant with health and safety regulations at all times.
3. Conduct routine checks, including fire alarms, emergency lighting, and security systems.
4. Manage contractors on-site and oversee larger maintenance projects.
5. Support the school by setting up and maintaining classrooms, hall spaces, and outdoor areas for various activities.
6. Monitor and maintain stock of cleaning and maintenance supplies.

What We're Looking For:

1. Previous experience in a caretaker or similar role.
2. A strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
3. Practical DIY skills and the ability to carry out minor repairs.
4. Patience, resilience, and the ability to work in an environment supporting children with SEMH needs.
