The Role

The Schedule Research & Development Analyst reports into easyJet’s Schedule Research & Development Manager. This role will drive improvements to the performance and stability of easyJet’s flying schedule using a variety of tools and analyses while also optimising easyJet’s expansive slot portfolio. The role holder will convey these proposed improvements to both internal and external stakeholders, at varying levels of seniority.

The analytical capability and data-driven solutions delivered by the role holder will influence revenue improvement and cost reduction scenarios applied into easyJet’s schedule.

What you’ll be doing:

  1. Build scenarios to explore structural schedule changes required to accommodate improved operational resilience, optimised commercial returns, crew efficiencies, asset utilisation and optimising out slot portfolio according to easyJet’s priorities.
  2. Develop methodology for monitoring and enhancing the core KPIs of easyJet’s schedule within the R&D function and strategic initiatives assessment to the internal stakeholders.
  3. Develop analysis using external and internal data sources to quantify RPS and CPBH generated for each schedule developed, in order to drive changes to easyJet’s programme leading to effective revenue and cost-conscious scenarios.
  4. Develop analysis to forecast operational performance, in order to drive changes to easyJet’s programme leading to effective operationally resilient scenarios.
  5. Innovate, develop, calibrate and utilise the dashboard and analytical tools for the Schedule Research & Development Team aimed at the improvement of the Schedule Research & Development area in conjunction with the wider Scheduling function.
  6. Lead innovative projects that explore how we approach Schedule Optimisation, liaising with key stakeholders and driving value.
  7. Guide Operational Teams through what-if schedules, using experience and innovation to influence decisions.
  8. Steer internal and external stakeholders through existing processes and into new processes, giving data-driven insights and persuasive logic-based arguments.
  9. Build Schedules for different base scenarios and supporting required workstreams, such as NDF.
  10. Provide analytical support and guidance to members of the Schedule Research & Development and Schedule Design Team to help drive data-led insights and decision making.
  11. Where necessary, manage analytical projects, produce high quality results and deliver presentations as part of a team and/or as an individual.
  12. Using analytical techniques as well as existing tools, to deliver on optimisation objectives according to operational and commercial requirements.
  13. Support delivery of in-depth trend assessments based on airline performance to drive and influence future business decisions.
  14. Support a thorough forecasting process aimed at allowing data-driven decisions across Commercial and Operational functions.
  15. Evaluation and negotiation of Operational Parameters using data-driven insights.

Requirements of the Role

What you will need to do this role:

  1. Highly numerate & analytical with a strong attention to detail.
  2. An innovative mindset, with an ability to think critically.
  3. A love of data and the ability to provide in-depth insights from it.
  4. Knowledge of business research methodologies.
  5. Expert knowledge of MS Office essential, with particular focus on Excel and PowerPoint.
  6. Project Management Experience preferred.
  7. Knowledge of scheduling systems, including Amadeus SkySuite and/or Sabre Air Vision, is preferred.
  8. Working knowledge of SQL data mining tools and ability to extract and manipulate data is preferred.
  9. Flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment.
  10. Tenacity, focus and resilience to deliver the plan.
  11. Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  12. Articulate and accurate.
  13. Analytical and structured.
  14. Creativity and curiosity – discover new data sources and integrate these in a meaningful way into the business.

Location & Hours of Work

We typically get together 3 times a week at our head office at Luton Airport.
