SC Cleared Infrastructure Engineer

Job Type: Contract Role

Job Location: 2-3 Days a week to Warwick/Wokingham, UK

Job summary:

We are seeking an experienced SC Cleared (active) Infrastructure Engineer with a background in installing and building IT hardware (Windows Server) and virtual systems. Strong experience in cross-organisation IT Systems migrations, server and systems hardening, penetration testing, and working with software integration teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in system interoperability, documentation skills, experience of video surveillance systems (VSS), access control, LAN/WAN networking, and Windows Server OS infrastructure both physical and virtual. The Infrastructure Engineer will play a key role in supporting the strategy and direction of our Corporate Security business unit, focusing on migrating services, enhancing security measures, and optimizing operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless interoperability of security systems.
  2. Lead internal projects related to system migrations, upgrades, asset refresh initiatives, and the rollout of access control and physical security systems.
  3. Coordinate the commissioning of new sites into the security system, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  4. Liaise with suppliers and vendors to support negotiation of software/infrastructure maintenance agreements and ensure timely delivery of security solutions.
  5. Communicate effectively with stakeholders from various departments, including IT, security, and business units, to gather requirements and address concerns.
  6. Become the subject matter expert for the physical security infrastructure and provide high-level support to internal teams and external clients on complex security solutions.
  7. Implement rigorous quality assurance processes to validate the functionality, performance, and usability of security systems.
  8. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, including ISO 27001, by implementing appropriate security measures and controls.

About you:
  1. Hold current active SC Clearance.
  2. Technological literacy in learning, operating, building, and troubleshooting IT systems and other technological equipment.
  3. Experience with Gallagher Security integrated systems and other security technologies, an advantage.
  4. CompTIA Security+ certification.
  5. Demonstrable knowledge of Windows Server 2016/2019/2022, networking fundamentals, and ITIL best practices.
  6. Proven ability to solve complex problems and make effective decisions.
  7. Attention to detail, particularly in documentation and project management.
  8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  9. Knowledge of System Architectures and Design.
  10. Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
