Job Title: Internal Sales & Key Accounts Support
Location: Outskirts of Colchester (transport is required due to location)
Job Type: 40 Hours a week.
Salary: up to £28,000 depending on experience


About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and customer-focused Internal Sales & Key Accounts Support professional to join a fast-paced and dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a sales-driven environment and enjoys delivering exceptional service to key clients.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Handle incoming sales calls and enquiries
  2. Proactively engage existing customers to upsell and cross-sell products
  3. Process sales orders and respond to stock and delivery queries
  4. Resolve customer issues and complaints in a timely, professional manner
  5. Monitor stock levels and liaise with logistics to ensure timely deliveries
  6. Arrange haulage to meet customer requirements
  7. Report on shortages, delays, or lead-time concerns
  8. Support Regional Sales Directors with the planning and management of key accounts
  9. Work closely with clients to meet specific deadlines and service expectations
  10. Review and improve sales processes to enhance performance

Key Skills & Experience

  1. Previous experience in a key account or internal sales role
  2. Experience with national accounts or buying groups is a plus
  3. Industry background in construction or merchant/distribution sector desirable
  4. Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
  5. Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  6. Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills
  7. Confident working independently with a proactive mindset
  8. Strong IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel

Performance & Results Focus

  1. Support operational targets and KPIs alongside Regional Sales Directors
  2. Monitor performance and identify improvements to boost productivity and margins
  3. Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely product delivery and issue resolution

Customer Experience

  1. Promote a customer-first culture, ensuring high satisfaction across all touchpoints
  2. Help implement and refine internal procedures to improve service delivery

Health & Safety / Compliance

  1. Adhere to all relevant health & safety procedures and company policies
  2. Ensure compliance with legislation and internal quality standards
