Communications International Group (CIG) is a leading media and communications organisation specialising in the healthcare sector through the development and delivery of innovative, multi-platform pharmacy communications solutions. CIG publishes a range of market leading pharmacy magazines and books, including Pharmacy Magazine, Training Matters, P3, Independent Community Pharmacist, Counter Intelligence Plus, and Beauty Magazine.

Due to continuing growth, an opportunity has arisen for a Sales Manager to join our team.

The role

Principally this role involves prospecting for, and delivery of, successful sales/new business development. You will be working with leading healthcare brands, on new product launches and reinforcing the existing product knowledge on existing products listing with major UK retailer. You will be part of a business development/account management team and be responsible for managing a mixed portfolio of clients; some of them already ongoing, some newly acquired by you. This is a client-facing role with business development, negotiation, and advanced sales as crucial skills for the role. Strong project management skills are highly desirable.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a candidate who is a self-starter, able to develop new business opportunities while managing a portfolio of accounts. The role would suit someone with at least 3-5 years’ experience in sales, publishing, training, or pharmaceutical sales. The ideal candidate will be someone who is looking for the next step-up in their career and seeking to gain more responsibility and recognition. Additionally, we are looking for someone who can bring their previous publishing/media experience to a dedicated team of pharmacists, writers, designers, and project managers. Previous experience in the healthcare industry, sales, or a pharma agency would be an advantage.

Key responsibilities

  • Identifying and generating new business opportunities
  • Managing a 360-degree portfolio of existing accounts
  • Implementing ideas and business plans for clients to deliver best-in-class training for major UK retailer accounts
  • Managing and building client relationships, face-to-face and online
  • Liaising with internal creative and editorial teams, managing timescales and budgets
  • Creating internal and external client reports
  • Managing other business-related tasks given by the line manager
