Job description

Our client is a leading and forward-thinking organisation offering a range of environmental services including skip hire, tool hire, hazardous waste disposal, concrete supply and more to the construction sector. They provide a centralised hub that offers their construction customers the most comprehensive services, tools and materials for their construction sites. They are on a mission to fix the problems of the industry by improving the customer journey. They exist to seamlessly supply construction site services that solve their customers' problems and create value for their suppliers.


Due to continued growth of the organisation, they're now looking to create the role of a Sales Manager to be based in the Loughton offices and to manage a team of 8 including Business Development and Account Management.


Responsibilities:

  1. Own the sales culture; manage all sales staff to ensure they work in alignment with our company values.
  2. Line management of multiple sales functions (New Business, Business Development, Account Management) to ensure they are hitting their sales targets - circa 8 people.
  3. Feedback around system and process improvements needed to improve the business.
  4. Carrying out on-the-job training to sales staff ensuring they are equipped with all the right knowledge to sell their services and are working their way up to expert level.
  5. Ensure the sales staff are working routinely, according to effective processes like a well-oiled machine.
  6. Ensure personal and collective liaison with other departments within the business to ensure customer acquisition and customer expansion is maximised.
  7. Daily, weekly and monthly reporting is completed, documented, and shared with the team.
  8. Work with the operational board to ensure management of the sales function is in alignment with other functions.
  9. Working closely with the Head of Growth to ensure alignment on team performance and needs for improvement.
  10. Actively participate in weekly and monthly operational board meetings and ensure that the sales function is managed in alignment with the views of the Board.

The Candidate:

  1. A minimum of 3 years of sales management experience.
  2. Experience within the construction services sector either tool/plant hire or waste management.
  3. Ability to commute to Loughton (Essex) on a daily basis.
  4. Experience managing sales teams to high performance.
  5. Experience at enterprise/mid-market selling, creating and winning high value accounts.
  6. A growth mindset and the right attitude to join us on this journey to build something great.
  7. Great communicator, facilitator, and revenue generator.
  8. Can lead from the front and mobilise their team around the vision for success.
