Job description

ROLE: Sales/Advertising Manager

LOCATION: Maidstone, Kent

SALARY: £25,000 plus commission

THE COMPANY

This company is a growing group of companies within the media and publications industry. This modern and dynamic communications business operates across many business-to-business sectors and is looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious Sales/Advertising Manager to join their team. The organization works fully office-based, Monday to Friday, with the opportunity to attend relevant trade shows throughout the year.

THE JOB

This exciting Sales/Advertising Manager job, based from their offices in Maidstone, is a full-time permanent position. Reporting to the Group Sales Manager, as Advertising Manager you will be responsible for achieving agreed sales targets and ensuring successful administration to meet the production schedule.

Your duties will include:

  1. Telephone and email liaison with both clients and agents, involving approximately 40 - 50 positive sales and follow-up calls per day, while building rapport with clients/agents through regular contact.
  2. Ensuring sufficient sales to achieve publication dispatch dates as advised annually.
  3. Ensuring signed confirmation of orders are received and accurately administered before moving any advertising copy to the production services and passing the confirmation to the Journal Secretary.
  4. Attending shows and exhibitions, with the possibility of spending some time away from home.
  5. Liaising with all magazine team members to ensure the smooth running of the publication.
  6. Knowing at all times the confirmed revenue for the current and future issues, in addition to sales awaiting final processing.
  7. Occasionally carrying out other duties, as are within your capabilities and level of responsibility, to meet the needs of the business.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  1. Experience in a sales role, preferably in advertising or media.
  2. The ability to communicate effectively over the phone.
  3. Proven track record of hitting targets and deadlines.
  4. The ability to present.
  5. Clear and concise communicator.

WHAT TO LOOK FORWARD TO

  1. A basic salary of £25,000.
  2. Commission - £1,000 per target hit (10 targets a year).
  3. 20 days holiday plus bank holidays.
  4. Seasonal social company gatherings.
