Sales Engineer required for a process engineering company and manufacturer of a wide range of products such as heat exchangers, and various engineering solutions based in the Elland area for the food industry.

This role is focused on managing key accounts by actively engaging with current customers to maintain high levels of service and identifying new business opportunities to expand our client base. The successful candidate will leverage technical expertise and collaborative efforts to develop tailored solutions, meeting unique customer needs while driving sales growth.

Alongside these core duties, the role may evolve to meet future operational demands and team dynamics.

Our product range features custom-designed, low-volume items tailored to individual client specifications, unlike standard catalogue products.

Sales Engineer Job Overview

Build, expand, and promote relationships with both new and existing clients, ensuring all customer expectations are consistently met or surpassed.

Manage a portfolio of diverse sales projects that may involve multiple lines of inquiry.

Optimize profitability through customer satisfaction, emphasizing innovation, quality, and value.

1. Meet and exceed personal and team sales targets by creating and presenting solutions aligned with customer needs.
2. Regularly assess existing client accounts for potential growth or improvement opportunities.
3. Collaborate on engineering change requests, ensuring stakeholders are informed of cost implications.
4. Assist with the preparation of technical and financial proposals during the quotation phase.

Sales Engineer Job Requirements

Minimum HNC qualified in relevant electrical or mechanical engineering discipline (Desirable).

5 years plus engineering sales experience, including tracking, planning, and forecasting.

1. Exceptional communication skills to establish and nurture critical relationships.
2. Strong interpersonal skills, able to work with both internal and external stakeholders effectively.
3. Demonstrated creative and analytical problem-solving abilities in a collaborative environment.
4. Proven success in converting solution-based opportunities into sales, ideally within engineering sectors.
5. Strong Technical Sales background within Engineering.
6. Full UK Driving Licence.
7. A background within food engineering is desirable.

Sales Engineer Salary & Benefits

1. Salary likely Circa 50k-55k.
2. Car allowance of 5k.
3. Pension (5% employer contribution).
4. Healthcare.
5. Death in service.
6. 07:30-16:00 Monday-Thursday, 07:30-15:30 Friday.
