Job Overview:

  • Sales Engineer, Technical Sales Engineer, Technical sales jobs role

This position is highly suited to an engineer or technical professional who wants to work in a customer/sales focused role, ideally with knowledge of Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

  • Selling into the Automotive industry (Commercial & Specialist vehicles) through bespoke projects, which will involve a consultative approach. This role does NOT involve cold calling, selling from a catalogue, or competing on price.

Job Security: This is a very secure position within an SME business that is part of a larger international group and backed by a private equity firm that re-invests into the business. They have trebled their turnover in the last 3 years and forecast continued growth.

Responsibilities of the Sales Engineer:

  • Selling bespoke and standardised solutions into the UK specialist vehicle market (Light commercial vehicles, commercial vehicles). The company has a high market share and is recognized for high quality products & customer service.
  • The role will focus on account management and growth of existing or lapsed customers.
  • Travel is required (a full UK driving license is necessary). Expect to spend 3-4 days visiting customers with 1-2 days in the office or working from home.
  • You will be interacting with engineers and design teams, necessitating strong technical knowledge. A consultative approach is essential, with knowledge of Mechanical/Electrical engineering or the automotive/OEM sector.
  • This is a dynamic SME with an agile entrepreneurial culture, well suited to self-motivated, proactive individuals.
