We are looking for a highly motivated Sales Engineer who will be responsible for supporting field engagement activities including technical presentations, pre and post sales visits, assisting with lab and field trials, solution integration, training and providing general customer support as needed. Understand and help drive SaaS onboarding process and adoption of our comprehensive hardware and software solutions with our customers, solution engineering teams as well as our Product Management, and Dev Ops teams. As a Sales Engineer you will be responsible for supporting engagements with new opportunities as well as existing customers that look to expand their footprint and/or service offerings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct account and partner responsibilities for assigned territories.
  • Maintain a current knowledge base and skills set including relevant competitive solutions sets, ADTRAN product specifications, performance criteria, end-user applications, and customer requirements. These would include both Adtran and its partner's product set; for example, Adtran is a Juniper partner and both sells and supports their range of routers and switches.
  • Provide technical and sales support including demonstrations, evaluations, and training for accounts in assigned territory and perform technical presentations for customers, partners, and prospects.
  • Assist in the development of formal sales plans and proposals for assigned opportunities.
  • Work cross-functionally with Proposals, Marketing, Corporate, Engineering, etc. to ensure that information is consistently up-to-date and accurate.
  • Participate in strategic meetings with cross-functional members in order to identify issues, client requirements, product requirements and direction, processes, and timelines of final products to be delivered to clients.
  • Prepare and execute acceptance testing as well as lab & field trials.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:
  • Proven work experience as a Sales Engineer positioning SaaS solutions.
  • Proven track record selling complex software solutions.
  • Comprehensive Ethernet and IP knowledge and hands-on experience. Knowledge of routing protocols beneficial (e.g., Juniper/Cisco experience).
  • Provisioning and orchestration software (incl. protocols such as NetConf, REST and experience in JSON).
  • Linux, Virtualization technologies, Scripting/Programming (Python) knowledge and practical experience.
  • Ability to develop solutions hand in hand with customers and partners, convincing customers of our solution benefits.
  • Willingness to regularly travel to customers within the EMEA region with an attitude of proactively getting things done, working on their own initiative.
  • Experience with Juniper routers, switches, and associated network design and deployment.

  • Readiness to travel within the UK
  • DBS check will be required (Adtran to arrange)

Compensation:
  • Sales compensation scheme: Base salary + Commission
