About The Role

The Selwood business has seen enormous growth over recent years. Due to this we’re pleased to be adding a Sales Director into our Pump Manufacturing team.

The Sales Director will drive the Pump Manufacturing Commercial Sales team in line with the strategic plan for the business, to grow our position in chosen International markets by expanding our customer base, managing and developing both external territory managers and the Internal sales team, and building strong, long lasting and repeatable customer relationships.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Workdry Commercial Development to formulate and implement a sales development strategy for International growth.
  • Align to the Workdry international growth strategy through the combined efforts of B2B, channel partners and explore other growth opportunities.
  • Recruit and train sales staff and ensure that the department is appropriately resourced to efficiently drive volumes of Pump sets, Aftermarket and Accessories sales internationally.
  • Create Sales Forecasts and Sales Plans.
  • Own and hit/exceed annual sales targets within assigned and focus territories and accounts.
  • Communicate, present and influence all levels of the organisation, including executive and C suite level.
  • Identify objectives, resources, market positioning, including client or partnership opportunities.
  • Identify potential M&A opportunities which align to our International expansion goals.
  • Ensure the target market sectors (Construction, Municipal and Rental) are identified, onboarded and continue to mature through focus customers and provision of our services.
  • Ensure objectives and performance targets or KPIs are appropriately cascaded to team/functional levels and regularly reported on, evaluated and adjusted when required.
  • Develop and implement efficient, effective and compliant commercial pricing, processes, and procedures.
  • Provide strong leadership by devising and implementing systems to keep staff motivated and maintain a high level of morale.
  • Develop and motivate external and internal sales teams to ensure role competency requirements, and to achieve strong engagement, performance, productivity and work quality.
  • Seek to identify new markets, geographic coverage and partners/customers aligned to the Group growth plans, including the consideration of existing (and additional) product portfolio and applications.
  • Develop department action plans and objectives aligned to the Group business plan and objectives, ensuring that these are cascaded, evaluated and adjusted when required.
  • Report regularly on all aspects of growth plan, risks, performance, Client opportunities, product development or portfolio and business improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree qualified or equivalent or with significant relevant industry experience.
  • Proven track record of raising the standards within a team.
  • Experienced in both setting and aligning to strategies, setting objectives and KPIs and Budget Management.
  • Experience of commercial and contract management will be a critical success factor in the role.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressured environment while balancing multiple workstreams and working with several different clients and partners in parallel.
  • Leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to listen and offer sound feedback and work in a collaborative environment with the operational delivery teams.
  • Ability to act proactively / be forward thinking whilst maintaining a methodical, attention to detail approach.
  • Vision for the business and the wider team, with the ability to adapt and be decisive in a rapid pace environment.
  • Extensive Client facing experience with negotiation skills on both the commercial and technical elements of the business.
  • Extensive experience leading Sales Teams, managing resources and focused equally on the development of people.
  • Computer literate and able to analyse data on Microsoft Packages such as Project / Excel / Word / PowerPoint.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively globally as and when necessary.
  • Full UK driving licence is required for this position due to the role requiring the successful applicant to travel to and from multiple locations.
  • Experience of leading and demanding a Health & Safety culture, driving and creating an environment where good practices are a way of everyday life and total compliance is adhered to.
