Sales Director - Fund Services – Private Markets

Location: London

Position Summary

This role focuses on developing new revenue streams for our private markets business including Europe by implementing our consultative sales methodology and collaborating with subject matter experts. You will spearhead growth initiatives to strengthen our market position in the private equity, private debt and real assets sector, with particular emphasis on medium to large investment managers across various strategies and fund structures (closed and open-ended). Your responsibilities will include enhancing our company's visibility within the UK and European private markets ecosystem and cultivating strategic relationships with key industry stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement business development and sales strategies for the UK and European region that align with our global vision
  • Develop and monitor an effective sales pipeline targeting strategic opportunities in new launches and conversions
  • Track and evaluate sales performance metrics including activity levels, revenue projections, and profitability
  • Oversee the complete sales cycle in partnership with UK and European Managing Directors, subject matter experts, and business managers
  • Create and execute tactical and strategic business development initiatives including market expansion and lead generation campaigns
  • Foster clear communication channels with senior leadership, managing directors, peer groups, and specialists
  • Uphold high standards for all European business development and sales deliverables
  • Mitigate risks throughout the sales process
  • Provide comprehensive sales reporting to senior management covering year-to-date revenue, time allocation, expenses, and monthly updates
  • Establish, nurture, and assess the effectiveness of European referral networks across lines of business
  • Collaborate with our Marketing and Communications department on brand enhancement through industry events, conferences, and company-sponsored functions
  • Boost brand recognition by coordinating with our public relations partners
  • Manage the preparation of RFPs and new business proposals
  • Develop and maintain product marketing materials and presentations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Approximately 10+ years of experience, in a similar role with strong private markets knowledge
  • Strong communication skills, particularly in negotiation and presentation
  • Demonstrated track record of generating new business with consistent year-over-year growth
  • In-depth knowledge of the alternative fund industry
  • Ability to thrive in team environments while managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines
  • Proven leadership capabilities and sound judgment regarding issue escalation
  • Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CIMA are beneficial but not required
