The Buehler’s Restaurant Manager is responsible for the successful operation of the Tappan Lake Buehler’s Restaurant. Their job is to ensure that our loyal customers have an exceptional experience each and every time they choose to dine with us. The Restaurant Manager is a hands-on position which requires working alongside the food service team on a daily basis. Along with working hands-on, the Restaurant Manager will provide oversight of the department. Join us as a Restaurant Manager and lead the charge in delivering exceptional dining experiences at our beautiful new off-site restaurant at Tappan Lake. Collaborate with both Front of House (FOH) and Back of House (BOH) teams to ensure efficient operations and uphold our commitment to being the Best in Food Service.

Profit and Loss Accountability

  • Maximizes sales generation.
  • Monitors and enforces customer service standards for restaurant employees.
  • Schedules and executes effective and efficient labor.

Specific job functions will generally include...

  • Maximize profitability through expense control, ordering, shrink control, inventory control, efficient production, and repair/maintenance.
  • Maximizing sales through customer satisfaction, restaurant cleanliness, and food presentation.
  • Establish and maintain effective staffing guidelines needed for customer service and satisfaction – manage timely seating and customer interactions.
  • Assist in identifying and recommending career opportunities for employees’ development, allowing the company to meet the needs of the business level for now and in the future.
  • Foster team engagement and recognition.
  • Enforce standards of quality through personal observation and actively take steps to ensure quality control and specification adherence by sampling product for consistency.
  • Keep abreast of competition’s activities and make recommendations for menu items and other restaurant promotions.
  • Oversee food preparation, ensuring compliance with health, safety, food handling, and hygiene standards.
  • Be hands-on with food production by jumping in on the line and assisting cooks in operating the grill, fryers, and related equipment.
  • Assist food production team in the set-up, organization, and preparation of food using established production procedures and systems.
  • Implement safety and sanitary procedures to comply with governmental regulations.
  • Implement and communicate policy and procedure.
  • Other duties as directed or assigned.

Our legal team wants you to know what’s required for this role:

  • Attain at least 21 years of age.
  • Able to occasionally stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 40# - and occasionally 60#.
  • This role requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
  • Able to work within our kitchen environment that includes equipment such as an oven, stove, dishwasher, slicer, coffee machine, steamer, mixer, and chef’s knives; frequently exposed to heat, steam, fire, and noise.

  • Previous Restaurant Managing Experience; food service management experience or familiarity with food service operations.
  • Demonstrates leadership skills and growth potential.

  • Note – responsibilities may evolve, and candidates should be adaptable to changing duties.
  • 50 Hours a week - Restaurant hours and some weekends.
