Salaried G.P (within 2 years CCT) Hazelvalley Family Practice

Join our friendly and supportive team at Hazelvalley Family Practice, a well-established training practice located in Haslingden, Rossendale.

We are excited to invite a newly qualified GP to join our team as a salaried GP, working 6 sessions per week (cannot have been employed as a General Medical Practitioner in general practice previously).

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide GP services to a population of 6,200, dealing with a wide range of health needs.

Face to face, online and telephone consultations with home visits where needed.

Admin, pathology results, EPS, participation in supervision and teaching.

Attendance and input into practice meetings, protected learning events and quality improvement activity.

Job responsibilities

Clinical Care:

  • Provide high-quality, patient-centred medical care to a diverse patient population.
  • Conduct consultations, examinations, and assessments, both in-person and via telemedicine, as appropriate.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions, ensuring timely and effective treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals, including referrals to specialists and community services when necessary.

Preventative Health:

  • Promote health education and preventative measures, advising patients on lifestyle changes and health improvement strategies.
  • Participate in screening and vaccination programmes as part of preventative healthcare initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Nurture and support the existing team by fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Participate in practice meetings and contribute to the development and implementation of practice policies and protocols.

Professional Development:

  • Engage in continuing professional development (CPD) activities to maintain and enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Participate in regular appraisals and revalidation processes.

Quality Improvement:

  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the practice.

Research and Innovation:

  • Participate in research activities and projects.
  • Stay informed about the latest research findings and integrate them into clinical practice where applicable.
  • Communicate effectively and empathetically with patients and their families.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • General Medical Practitioner who is:
  • Included in the list of medical practitioners maintained and published by NHS England;
  • A medical practitioner whose name is included in the General Practitioner Register kept by the General Medical Council.
  • The General Medical Practitioner is NOT:
  • Prohibited from performing any such service by regulation 24 of the National Health Service (Performers Lists) (England) Regulations 2013;
  • Suspended from the list of medical practitioners maintained and published by NHS England.
  • The General Medical Practitioner is NOT:
  • Beyond the second anniversary of their certificate of completion of training, issued by the General Medical Council, at the start of their employment.
  • The General Medical Practitioner has NOT:
  • Been substantively employed as a General Medical Practitioner in general practice previously.

Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
