Job description

The Safety Manager role is responsible for overseeing and implementing comprehensive food safety and people safety protocols in the Northern Region to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices to protect the well-being of our guests and team members. This role requires a strong understanding of operational food safety and health and safety regulations, risk management, and operational best practices.

Description


The key responsibilities of the Safety Manager include:

  1. Develop and Implement Safety Policies: Create and enforce safety policies, procedures, and protocols in accordance with local and government regulations, as well as RBI and Burger King standards.
  2. Training and Education: Conduct training sessions for staff members on proper food handling, storage, preparation, and hygiene practices.
  3. Inspection and Audit Compliance: Conduct regular inspections and audits of kitchen facilities, equipment, procedures, and suppliers to identify potential hazards, ensure compliance with food safety standards, and address any deficiencies promptly.
  4. HACCP Implementation: Develop and maintain Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) plans to identify and mitigate food safety risks throughout the food production process.
  5. Supplier and Vendor Management: Collaborate with suppliers to ensure services provided mitigate safety risks.
  6. Incident & Crisis Management: Develop contingency plans and protocols for responding to and investigating safety-related incidents or emergencies. Coordinate with relevant stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, to manage and resolve safety issues effectively.
  7. Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, incident reports, and compliance documentation.
  8. Regulatory Liaison: Liaise with enforcement authorities (both verbally and in writing) as appropriate.
  9. Pest Management: Work with Pest Control Contractors and internal stakeholders to eliminate or mitigate pest infestations in restaurants.
  10. Stakeholder Engagement: Work with and empower Whopper Support Departments to drive positive safety culture and performance.

Profile


The ideal candidate will have a background in:

  1. Food Safety Level 4 and NEBOSH Certificate.
  2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in operational food safety management.
  3. Thorough knowledge of food safety regulations (e.g., FDA Food Code, HACCP principles, allergen management) and industry standards.
  4. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to train and motivate teams to maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene.
  5. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential food safety risks.
  6. Proficiency in MS Office applications and food safety management software systems.
  7. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Job Offer
Mostly remote role + car allowance + 20% bonus + package.
