Job description

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced RTR Accountant for a fixed-term contract of 6 months. This role, based in Manchester, offers the flexibility of hybrid working. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing necessary general ledger close procedures, supporting automation, efficiency, accuracy, and maintaining strong internal controls. As an RTR Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring financial statements are accurate for the reporting period. You will be involved in various aspects of accounting such as preparing and posting journals, completing recharges, reallocations, IFRS adjustments, and revaluation journals. Your collaborative skills will be put to use as you work alongside other teams within the organisation to resolve discrepancies and identify errors. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the team.

  • Perform necessary general ledger close procedures including sub-ledger to GL activities, accruals, and journal adjustments.
  • Prepare and post journals with appropriate auditable documentation to support postings.
  • Complete agreed recharges, reallocations, IFRS adjustments, and revaluation journals.
  • Support annual calendar of audit activities and take part in UAT testing for regular SaaS releases.
  • Work collaboratively with other pillars in RTR and across Finance Operations to resolve discrepancies and identify errors.
  • Create and maintain process documentation and ensure SOPs are understood and followed.
  • Deliver defined performance service levels aligned with the KPIs and SLAs for the RTR team.
  • Work closely with RTR managers to identify continuous improvement initiatives and implement best practices.

The ideal candidate for this RTR Accountant position is a qualified or part-qualified accountant with significant experience within an RTR department. You should be proficient in using accounting software like Oracle Fusion ERP. Your strong analytical skills coupled with your meticulous attention to detail will enable you to excel in this role. Your ability to work under pressure while meeting tight deadlines will be crucial. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must, along with experience in problem-solving and innovative thinking.
