Job Summary

This is an outstanding opportunity to work in a dynamic and exciting environment in support of the operationally active Commando Forces (Royal Marines). We are looking for capable and motivated professionals with the drive to actively support and improve the lived and worked experience of Military and Civil Service personnel.

The Commando Forces Security and Infra Coordinator will provide the centralised focal point and the coordinating authority for all infrastructure and security risks, issues and assurance. Understanding emerging matters that require a cohered approach to planning; programming, resourcing, monitoring, assuring, and cohering responses ensuring actions and lessons are identified and promulgated. The role is required to engage with Heads of Establishment teams, establishment Infrastructure Delivery and Asset Managers (IDAM), and security points of contact to support, develop, and cohere approaches to infrastructure and security matters across Brigade.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Job Description

  • To act as the focal point of contact within Commando Forces for all infrastructure matters.

Monitor infrastructure risks, issues, and emerging matters at subordinate unit-levels which will require development of a cohered approach, and likely aggregation of risk to be articulated and escalated. Undertake data analysis to identify trends and themes across the Commando Forces estate, feeding the ability to learn from experience.

Engage weekly with Unit Estate Managers and Base personnel to ensure establishment priorities are understood and methodically cohered using a risk-based approach and provide oversight on progression of significant schemes to ensure impact on operational output, safety, and security is understood and minimised. Support the Units in the completion and delivery of their Establishment Management Plans relating to infrastructure as required.

Provide scrutiny of the infrastructure standards and requirements against Defence Minimum Standards and manage end-user expectations as and where required. Routinely liaise with relevant infrastructure stakeholders across the Business.

Capture and share lessons identified through the Base Forum, recording on SharePoint as a record. Work collaboratively across the formation, to ensure lessons identified are embedded in policy and process as required.

  • To act as the focal point for all Commando Force Units on security matters.

Through the termly Base Forum, monitor security risks, issues, and emerging matters which may benefit from the development of a cohered solution led by HQCF. Routinely liaise with relevant security stakeholders across the business. Promulgate lessons identified as and when required to ensure they are embedded in policy and process as required. Monitor, review and support Commando units in the documentation of security risks and issues in required risk management systems.

This position requires good IT skills in MS Office applications, high standard of verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with all stakeholders.
