Job description

RORO LGV Driver (Class C or C+E)
Salary – £15.60 per hour
Hours – Casual up to 50hrs per week (5 out of 7 days to be advised locally) 6am to 16.30pm
Location – Mid & East Kent, ME10 (Swale area)

As a RORO Driver at FCC Environment, you will be part of a professional team responsible for transporting waste safely and efficiently across our Mid & East Kent contract sites and off-taker locations. You’ll play a key role in ensuring environmental compliance and operational excellence. This is a full-time position, but we will consider job share requests (working full days) to support your lifestyle.

What will you be doing?

  1. Safely operating RORO vehicles for waste collection and transportation
  2. Carrying out vehicle safety checks and reporting defects
  3. Ensuring full compliance with road haulage and environmental legislation
  4. Accurately completing all relevant documentation including tachograph records and daily walk-around checks
  5. Communicating any operational issues promptly to the Transport Office
  6. Following all health and safety procedures and participating in ongoing training
  7. Representing FCC in a professional manner both on-site and on the road

What are we looking for?

  1. A clean HGV Class C or C+E licence, with a valid digital driver card and CPC qualification
  2. A strong understanding of EU and RTD driver hour regulations
  3. Experience with hookloaders and drawbars (preferred but not essential – training provided)
  4. A safety-first mindset and proactive approach to vehicle and site operations
  5. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  6. Resilience and a flexible, customer-focused attitude
