A number of outstanding opportunities have arisen for 5 contract positions between our Rotatives Derby Compressor Discs and Drums Facility (DCDD) and Shafts business. We are looking for a number of Inspectors who will be responsible for the inspection of aerospace components to join on a 12-month contract. Please note this role is going to be on a rotating shift pattern (mornings, afternoons, and nights).

In this role, you will be using visual and dimensional inspection techniques and CMM machines to find any non-conformance on aerospace engine components. This could involve intermediate inspection, receipt and dispatch of components, or final clear inspection. As an Inspector, you will work with manufacturing engineers to determine the right course of action to address any non-conformance, and you will be responsible for delivering against weekly targets to meet customer requirements.

As a Skilled Inspector you will be doing:

• Working to Rolls-Royce Technical Instructions to deliver consistent, high-quality inspection across a variety of different components and product families.
• Operating a variety of inspection equipment, including CMMs, micrometers, plug gauges, shadow graphs, and table-top measuring equipment.
• Interpreting manufacturing drawings, customer drawings, and written specifications.
• Assessing whether the quality of components produced within the facility meets the required standards.

Who we are looking for:

• Completed advanced level engineering apprenticeship* and NVQ/SVQ level 3 or equivalent.
• Experience of working in similar Inspector roles.
• Aerospace parts/components inspection experience highly desirable.
• Clear and demonstrated understanding of drawing interpretation, calibration, dimensional, and visual inspection.
• Active and patient person, capable of managing time effectively.
• An individual who can work alone and as part of a team and will strive to achieve delivery commitments.
• Someone who is confident and willing to partake in champion roles.
