Road Freight Coordinator
Location: Basildon
Salary: Up to £35,000
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent (Monday - Friday, 9am- 5pm)

As part of their continued expansion, they are looking for a motivated Road Freight Coordinator to join their team.

As a Road Freight Coordinator, you will play a key role in managing and coordinating road freight operations, ensuring that shipments are delivered on time and within budget. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Main Duties:

1. Provide competitive spot quotes for shipment requests, ensuring cost-effective solutions for clients.
2. Process and manage bookings, accurately inputting orders into the system and coordinating with suppliers.
3. Act as a key point of contact for customers and suppliers, ensuring shipments progress smoothly and according to schedule.
4. Oversee and coordinate import and export operations across Europe, handling groupage shipments, part/full loads, and express van services.
5. Handle invoicing procedures, including supplier invoice verification and approvals.
6. Collaborate closely with the customs department, ensuring all necessary documentation is prepared and provided to relevant parties.
7. Deliver exceptional customer service, maintaining a professional and courteous telephone manner.

Requirements:

1. Must have 2 years Road freight forwarding experience.
2. Knowledge and experience doing customs.
3. Successful history of building customer relationships.
4. Good level of communication and negotiating skills.
