Job Title: Risk Manager
Location: Hybrid, Reading office is ideal, will also look at Birmingham or Paddington but will still need to go into Reading when required and will have to be on site 1-2 times a week, then less once up and running.
Salary/Rate: £650.00 per day inside IR35
Start Date: April 2025
Job Type: 3 month initial contract

Company Introduction

My client within the telecommunications sector is urgently seeking a Risk Manager to assist with a large scale transformation project.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives

1. Determining of CTO's exposure to risk against its risk tolerance.
2. Identification of emerging risk trends and determining their impact on CTO's risk profile.
3. Assess control effectiveness in design and operation.
4. Identify arising internal control issues and concerns.
5. Support the business in the quantitative and qualitative assessment of risks in a manner that supports financial planning on a plausible and worst-case basis.
6. Facilitate the management of issues and concerns and challenging the appropriateness of management mitigation plans. Track risk mitigation actions and updates/reporting to the organisation.
7. Monitor the status of key risk indicators. Provide forecasts on basis of past performance. Monitor loss event (incidents) occurrence and provide forecasts of expected losses with and without management action.

Required Skills/Experience

1. Must be a very experienced Risk Manager.
2. Able to do RCSA or CRSA.
3. Able to understand technology if not from telco.
4. Must have supported in Operations and Conduct. If financial or Capacity then have an understanding of the other 2.
5. Strong senior stakeholder and customer management skills.
6. Strong analytical, risk aggregation and (re-)structing skills.
7. Willingness to undertake BPSS / SC clearance is required.
8. Report writing, strong written and verbal communication skills with excel/PowerPoint knowledge/expertise.
9. Ability to form strong business relationships across multiple locations.
10. Experience in telecoms industry is desirable.
