1 London Bridge (Hybrid 2-3 days a week on site)

Fixed Term Contract - Provisional End Date September 2025

Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

It is a hugely exciting time for our organization. We are pioneers in providing healthcare solutions to our patients as part of an established US healthcare organization built on over 50 years of experience. To continue our success, we are implementing our five-year One HCA UK strategy, which includes ambitious growth plans, the opening of new sites and significant investments in enhancing effectiveness and alignment as a group.

These growth plans include implementing a real-time end-to-end Electronic Health Record (EHR) platform, a multi-million-pound investment, and part of our long-term digital transformation initiative. Focused on advancing our technology and integrating web-based navigation, this EHR will allow HCA UK clinicians and colleagues to enhance patient safety, quality and care and to maintain our outstanding ratings and continue to be a global market leader in complex care. Therefore, we are investing in a new workforce to lead this change, focused on change management, transforming work practices, and project delivery of goals and objectives.

As the Risk Management Lead, the post holder will be adept in managing risks and issues, ideally within a programme situation. This role incorporates the management of both programme risks and issues and the clinical hazard assessment required to fulfil the DCB0160 responsibilities. This will play a key role in ensuring that all clinical risks and hazards related to the deployment of the new system, and beyond, are captured and managed in accordance with appropriate standards; it will also support the safe deployment and use of the EHR within HCA, ensuring patient safety is a priority at all times.

The post holder will work with the Clinical Safety Officer Expanse and HCA clinical leadership to validate the clinical risk management plan for the HCA EHR programme.

You will be involved in reporting, investigating and resolving programme and clinical risks as well as hazards linked to the digital health solutions and recommendations on the management of these. The post holder will be required to build strong working relationships with all stakeholders involved in the delivery of the EHR system and its rollout, and in the transformation of new and old digital systems and technologies.

The Risk Management Lead is expected to deputise in the absence of the EHR Head of Clinical Governance when required.

What you'll do:

  1. Manage all programme and clinical risks and hazards associated with the EHR project.
  2. Support colleagues to identify, report and record risks within the EHR Hazard Log; they will also manage updates and mitigations alongside the PMO.
  3. Develop and embed a positive clinical risk management culture throughout the programme.
  4. Develop, maintain and refine robust risk management systems and processes for identifying and addressing risks and hazards.
  5. Support the Programme Governance Team in the process for creating and updating their risk registers for all workstreams.
  6. The post holder is required to assure the Programme Leadership Team and EHR Steering Board of the management of risks associated with the Programme at all stages.
  7. Responsible for the progress against the Clinical Governance workstream Programme Plan, reporting up to the programme level for Executive oversight.
  8. Take leading role on organising Programme and Clinical Risk Management Meetings.

What you'll bring:

  1. Experience of managing risks, including clinical risks and hazards.
  2. Experience of delivering training.
  3. Knowledge of both DCB0129 and DCB0160 Standards.
  4. Organization development: understanding of the requirements of an information culture and emerging technologies.
  5. Successful influencer and negotiator: able to persuade clinicians to engage with, implement and embed change to achieve successful outcomes.
  6. Excellent communication and organisation skills.
