Risk & Controls Manager - Financial Crime (m/f/d)

We are currently seeking a Financial Crime Risk & Controls Manager to play a crucial role in strengthening the financial crime risk framework and control environment, particularly in the context of onboarding enhancements.

10 days required per month on site in either London, Manchester, Cardiff or Southampton

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage the control environment for financial crime and fraud.
  2. Conduct control effectiveness testing and oversee operational event management.
  3. Identify control gaps and drive improvements and remedial actions.
  4. Collaborate closely with AML and Fraud teams to embed risk management best practices.
  5. Produce clear, structured documentation and reporting on control measures and outcomes.

Skills and Experience:

  1. 5+ years in financial crime risk management.
  2. Experience in Retail Banking.
  3. Deep knowledge of control effectiveness testing.
  4. Hands-on experience with operational risk and control frameworks.
  5. Strong track record in managing control actions and responding to control weaknesses.
  6. Prior experience in a managerial role within financial services.
  7. Familiarity with AML protocols and fraud detection practices.
  8. Strong analytical skills to support risk identification and remediation.
