Job description

Risk and Compliance Solicitor - Cardiff

Excellent opportunity for a Risk and Compliance solicitor to join a top 100 commercial law firm who are based in impressive purpose-built offices in central Cardiff.

As part of this role, you'll be responsible for handling client complaints in line with the firm's Complaint Procedure. Your tasks will involve:

  1. Engaging with complainants and internal staff
  2. Conducting thorough investigations and crafting appropriate responses
  3. Keeping meticulous records of complaints
  4. Occasionally liaising with the Legal Ombudsman for escalated cases

In addition, you'll manage notifications of potential and actual professional negligence within the firm, which includes:

  1. Investigating reported circumstances and establishing facts
  2. Providing guidance on necessary actions and assistance
  3. Advising on conflict resolution and pre-action protocol
  4. Collaborating with the Head of Compliance and Quality, internal stakeholders, insurers, advisers, and external parties as needed
  5. Maintaining accurate records of professional indemnity matters for the firm.

This is a full-time position, and the successful in-house lawyer can expect a blend of office and home working.
