The post holder will ensure high levels of patient and clinician satisfaction by being an accessible, customer-focused, and knowledgeable point of contact. To provide a consistent approach across the Trust, ensuring that functions of the role are carried out correctly within given timescales, as per SOPs.

The post holder will demonstrate polite, clear, and accurate advice line support for patients and document all communication on EPR and DAWN, with some self-guided initiative.

The post holder will be expected to work autonomously and seek help from clinicians when appropriate.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be the point of contact for all administrative issues relating to Rheumatology patients' pathway of care for remote blood monitoring. The post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the remote monitoring of patients on a remote monitoring pathway is managed smoothly. The post holder will also work closely with the Rheumatology CNSs, Consultants, and Pharmacy, and ICB to support robust monitoring of the patient condition and act accordingly to the specialty instructions and SOPs. To work closely with the DAWN/Biologic team for Integrated Medicine and closely with the Rheumatology Clinical Administration Team (CAT 9) to ensure appropriate cross-cover is provided.

Person Specification

Education/ Qualifications/ Training

• Computer Literacy Course e.g. ECDL or equivalent
• Accurate data entry, typing, and analytical skills
• GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths, grades A-C or above
• Willing to undertake further training in specialist areas.
• NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration/Customer Care or acquired equivalent experience
• Ability to produce letters/reports using Word and Excel
• Knowledge of medical terminology appropriate to specialist area

Skills & Abilities

• Excellent communication skills with particular ability to liaise effectively with multidisciplinary team members and patients
• Ability to plan, organise, and accomplish a variety of concurrent assignments
• Understanding of patient priorities and performance targets related to appointments and waiting times
• Attention to detail in data collection and analysis
• Significant experience of using Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel or patient monitoring IT application
• Significant experience of using a full range of IT systems and patient data or monitoring systems (EPR and DAWN)
• Understanding and able to liaise with Primary Care, GP, and community services
