Our client is a key division of a leading global defence and aerospace organisation. They specialise in advanced platforms, mission systems, C4ISR, and cutting-edge sensor technologies. Known for tackling some of the most complex challenges in global security, they are now growing their RF Engineering capability to support high-impact defence and intelligence programmes. Due to continued investment, they are seeking passionate RF Engineers of all levels to join their team in Gloucester.

THE RF ENGINEER ROLE

As an RF Engineer, you'll contribute to the design, development, testing, and deployment of advanced RF communications systems. You may specialise in a focused technical area such as RF circuit design, antenna selection, or vulnerability analysis—or operate across multiple domains. Projects range from designing RF-based technologies to supporting field trials and developing custom research tools. You’ll work with a collaborative team focused on innovation and national defence.

RF ENGINEER ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Experience with RF communications systems implementation, testing, and analysis
  • RF circuit modelling and design
  • Hands-on RF testing with spectrum/network analysers
  • Experience with Software-Defined Radios (SDRs)
  • Knowledge of tools like Python, C/C++, VHDL, GitLab
  • Comfortable working on Linux-based systems

DESIRABLE SKILLS

  • Antenna optimisation and characterisation
  • RF algorithm development and DSP
  • Familiarity with GnuRadio, OpenCPI
  • Embedded systems vulnerability analysis
