Job description

RF Engineer | Gloucester | c£80K | requires eDV Security Clearance

We are seeking RF Engineers at various levels and across disciplines to join the team in Gloucester. You'll work on a variety of Defence, Cyber, and Intelligence programmes, with the opportunity to specialize in key areas such as circuit modelling, antenna selection, and test & measurement.

Key Responsibilities:

1. RF Circuit Modelling & Design: Develop and analyse RF circuits, from simulation to testing.
2. Antenna Selection & Design: Select and design antennas to meet the specific needs of various applications.
3. Test & Measurement: Conduct RF testing, including real-time test and measurement using vector signal analysers.
4. Vulnerability Analysis: Analyse and test RF systems to identify vulnerabilities and enhance security.
5. System Development & Verification: Support the development and verification of mission systems, with potential field trial involvement.
6. Specialist Tools Development: Design and develop bespoke research tools to support complex RF system analysis.

Skills and Experience Required:

1. RF communications systems implementation, test, and analysis.
2. RF circuit design and modelling experience.
3. Real-time test and measurement using spectrum analysers and vector network analysers.
4. Familiarity with using and developing for Software-defined radios.

Desirable Skills:

1. Experience in RF algorithm development and Digital Signal Processing.
2. Antenna optimisation and characterisation experience.
3. Embedded systems vulnerability analysis.
4. Knowledge of OpenCPI, GnuRadio, Python, C/C++, and other SDR development tools.
5. Development on Linux and use of GitLab.

You will require eDV Security Clearance and have been born in the UK to start this role.
