Job description

Experienced Reward Consultants are required to embark on a new, exciting journey within Thames Water. This is a pivotal time to join us, as we continue to embrace our commitment to deliver on our key objectives. We have a requirement for 2 dedicated Reward Consultants to be responsible for BAU and Project related activities.
You will play an integral role to ensure the effective development and delivery of Reward related processes and policy, working closely with key stakeholders in HR, business leaders and our union Partnership.

What you'll be doing as a Reward Consultant
Specifically for the BAU requirement

  • Effectively embed and deliver efficient reward processes including, but not limited to annual pay reviews, out of cycle pay increases, annual incentives and average holiday pay.
  • Manage the Apprentice and Graduate pay reviews and ensure that the Real Living Wage is implemented in January each year. Highlight the cost impact and any pay relativity issues associated with changes in these pay reviews.
Specifically for the Project requirement
  • Plan, develop, deliver and embed reward related projects, based on delivery of our Reward Framework, based on feedback from key stakeholders in HR, business leaders and our union Partnership.
  • Design and lead implementation of reward change projects including, but not limited to implementation of pay progression schemes, review of working patterns and shift allowances, review of how secondments are managed and rewarded.
  • Ensure projects are well managed through planning, stakeholder engagement, systems change, process change, policy change and sustainable design.
Additional responsibilities for both roles include -
  • Ensure processes are automated and streamlined and look for opportunities to continuously improve for managers and the People Services team.
  • Ensure reward communications are timely and easy to understand and coach HR colleagues and managers to help develop their reward knowledge.
  • Build strong relationships with Heads of HR, HR Consultants, People Services and the Resourcing team to enable a proactive approach to reward.
  • Keep abreast of trends and thinking in reward, bringing innovative ideas to challenge the status-quo within our current practices.
What you should bring to the role?
Essential:
  • Good communication skills to advise and influence HR colleagues.
  • Good breadth of compensation and benefits experience gained in an operational business. For the BAU role, this must include hands-on experience of running annual pay review processes.
  • Strong analytical skills, high numeracy and curiosity to find and interrogate data using Excel knowledge.
  • Experience improving and developing reward processes.
  • Attention to detail and strong planning and organisational skills to deliver processes on time, accurately and which enhance the employee experience.
Desirable:
  • SAP HR knowledge
  • PowerBI knowledge
  • Working with trade unions
  • Post-secondary qualification in an analytical subject e.g. statistics, maths
  • Professional recognition i.e. CIPD
