Revenue & System Optimization Strategist – Hotel Industry

Portsmouth, New Hampshire

We are seeking a detail-oriented Revenue & System Optimization Strategist to join our team. In this role, you will focus on leveraging hotel management systems to maximize revenue and enhance overall performance. Your responsibilities will include analyzing data, optimizing system settings, and ensuring the hotel’s pricing and inventory align with market demand. You will also collaborate closely with sales, marketing, and operations teams to drive performance improvements and actively lead weekly revenue meetings to review results and make necessary adjustments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Optimization & Utilization:
    • Optimize hotel management systems (PMS, RMS, booking platforms) for pricing, room availability, and inventory control.
    • Monitor and adjust system settings to ensure accurate reflection of pricing, restrictions, and promotions.
    • Ensure systems are aligned with revenue goals and strategies, making real-time adjustments as needed.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting:
    • Analyze booking data, occupancy patterns, and market trends to provide insights that support pricing decisions.
    • Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports on key performance metrics (ADR, occupancy, RevPAR, etc.).
    • Use system-generated data to track the effectiveness of pricing strategies and promotions, adjusting as needed.
  • Revenue Strategy:
    • Utilize the system to set dynamic pricing strategies based on data insights, market demand, and competitor performance.
    • Monitor and validate demand forecasting and room availability to optimize revenue across all distribution channels.
  • Competitor & Market Analysis:
    • Use external systems (e.g., STR, OTA Insight) to analyze competitor pricing, occupancy, and market trends.
    • Provide regular reports comparing the hotel’s performance against competitors to ensure competitive pricing and market positioning.
  • System Configuration & Maintenance:
    • Configure and update room rates, restrictions, and availability across multiple systems to ensure alignment with revenue strategies.
    • Troubleshoot issues related to room inventory, rate discrepancies, and booking errors within the systems.
  • Collaboration with Sales, Marketing & Operations:
    • Collaborate with the sales and marketing team to ensure that pricing, promotional offers, and online channels are integrated into the systems and support revenue goals.
    • Partner with operations to ensure the hotel’s capacity and availability are optimized for maximum revenue, adjusting inventory when needed.
    • Lead a weekly revenue meeting to review hotel performance, discuss key metrics, and make recommendations for adjustments in pricing, availability, and promotions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality, Economics, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to learn and utilize hotel management systems (PMS, RMS, etc.).
  • Familiarity with revenue management concepts (dynamic pricing, demand forecasting, etc.).
  • Proficiency with Excel or similar data tools; experience with reporting and analytics.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing system data.
  • Ability to analyze data and draw actionable insights to optimize revenue.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a collaborative team environment.
  • Willingness to engage in regular meetings and present the hotel’s revenue strategies.
