Job Description:

Retail Managers and Assistant Managers – Manchester Airport Duty Free are responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Duty-Free offering at Manchester Airport Duty Free, ensuring excellent customer service, high-quality product knowledge, and a positive shopping experience. You will manage staff, ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, handle inventory, and work to achieve financial targets. Strong leadership skills are needed to create a motivated and efficient team that consistently meets customer expectations.

This retail offering will sit within the duty-free store at Manchester Airport, which is undergoing a significant redevelopment with the estimated opening of the new store in May 2025. During the time before store opening, there will be full training on our system and processes, and the responsibility of supporting recruitment for the growing team.

Key responsibilities:

• Assist the General Manager in achieving sales and profit targets.
• Oversee daily retail offering operations, including opening and closing procedures.
• Manage, train, and schedule staff, ensuring adequate coverage and quality service.
• Ensure customers have a positive shopping experience by addressing issues and resolving complaints promptly.
• Monitor and maintain company policies for all retail offering activities across shifts.
• Monitor service standards.
• Maintain inventory and manage supplier relationships to ensure adequate stock levels.
• Handle financial duties, such as budgeting, sales analysis, and cost control.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
• Ensure brand standard compliance within your retail offering.
• Ensure preventive maintenance of retail facility and equipment is completed in accordance with Company standards.
