WE Talent is pleased to assist our client to hire a manager for their retail store in Stevenage!


As our client continues to expand their nationwide footprint, they are seeking a strong, experienced Retail Store Manager to join their business and lead the small team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a growing brand and contribute to the success of their latest venture.


Salary: Starting from £27,000 + achievable commission to an estimated £34k as a starting point with growth to base salary and commission from there. Ample opportunity to grow personal income via a clear progression route.


Location: Stevenage


Contract: Full-time permanent, 5-day week including weekend shifts

The Retail Store Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the store, ensuring an outstanding customer experience, and driving sales performance. This role requires a proactive leader who can manage a team, maintain high standards of visual merchandising, and develop strategies to achieve sales targets.


Responsibilities:
  1. Manage and lead a small retail team staff, providing training, support, and motivation.
  2. Ensure the store is visually appealing, maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness.
  3. Identifying areas of development by following market trends and making improvements where needed.
  4. Ensuring that your team have up to date product knowledge and greet every customer with warmth and patience.
  5. Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets using upselling / cross selling techniques.
  6. Monitor and analyse sales performance, preparing regular reports for senior management.
  7. Provide exceptional customer service, addressing customer enquiries and resolving any issues.
  8. Communicate regularly with the head office and the network to share ideas and encourage best practice.
  9. Manage inventory levels, ensuring stock is accurately recorded and replenished.
  10. Handle administrative tasks, including staff rotas, payroll, and wage cost management.
  11. Following all policies and procedures.
  12. Cashing up and banking.

Requirements:
  1. Proven experience as a Retail Store Manager or similar retail management role.
  2. Strong leadership and team management skills.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  5. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  6. Proficient in using Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word and Excel.
  7. A customer-focused attitude with a passion for delivering exceptional service.
  8. Ability to analyse sales data and develop strategies to improve performance.
  9. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours as required.
