As a key partner to the Global Retail Training Lead, the Retail L&D Specialist plays a vital role in empowering our retail teams for success. Our vision is to develop retail teams like no other through best-in-class learning experiences, enabling our retail teams to learn and grow to drive commercial performance, and develop and retain our talent.
As our Retail L&D Specialist you will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing a global onboarding framework for retail roles in collaboration with regional teams and support functions.
- Delivering scalable, innovative learning solutions, including engaging resources and interactive training, ensuring consistency across all retail employees.
- Designing and facilitating training to: enhance service, selling behaviours and commercial acumen; strengthen product knowledge and storytelling; improve store operations; and develop leadership capability.
- Partnering with retail leadership and HR to assess global learning needs and co-create training solutions.
- Managing Myagi, our retail training platform, by curating high-quality digital content, analysing impact, and coordinating Regional Retail Myagi Champions.
- Maintaining relationships with external providers.
- Evaluating training effectiveness to refine and enhance retail development programs.
- Advocating existing tools and processes while driving continuous improvement at Dr. Martens.
- Coordinating and managing L&D activities, ensuring seamless execution of development interventions.
THE STUFF THAT SETS YOU APART
Put simply, for this role the key things we’re looking for are:
- An extensive background in retail management that brings a clear vision of what good looks like.
- Experience of designing and delivering training effectively in a fast-paced, retail environment.
- A passion for learning and development – acting as an ambassador for continuous, lifelong learning and an advocate of blended and self-led learning for all.
- Demonstrable verbal and written communication skills that reflect our values, behaviours, and ways of working to engage individuals and teams.
- Strong presentation, facilitation, and coaching skills – able to deliver with clarity and impact and to change your style to suit your audience.
- Proven ability to plan, organise, prioritise, and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- The ability to build strong relationships, quickly and to collaborate with and inspire confidence amongst a variety of stakeholders.
- A keen eye for detail, taking pride in accuracy of information and consistency of message.
- An interest in making use of data and insights to evaluate and assess the impact of learning.
- Confidence in Microsoft applications including PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams.
- Previous involvement in project work.
