What you'll do

The Retail Delivery Manager is a critical role within the Beauty business unit, the role sits at the heart of the team to support the delivery of the 3rd Party Brand Strategy and Roadmap. The role is key in the execution of Brand Onboarding and distribution changes and enables the plan and BU Staffing & Education approach. The role should be recognised by the wider team as a critical value-adding role and driving impact in the business unit and M&S.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Engage all stakeholders and effectively lead cross-functional project teams to deliver an effective 3rd party brand onboarding process, continuing to optimise and improve this to significantly reduce the time it takes us to onboard brands.
  • Work with store design, Branded Buying teams and Brands to define and lead rollout of new store propositions to support in delivery of our ambitious branded roadmap, recognising the key role this plays in our negotiations.
  • Determine and manage retail proposition roll-out and update plans to agreed timescales, cost and business case benefits e.g. Make-up kit changeover with product, Core Brand Elevation 'L Boards'.
  • Lead store renewal programme across Beauty, liaising with required stakeholders to deliver this on time and to budget with minimal disruption. Lead Beauty Staffing & Education strategy and subsequent delivery, both across M&S Beauty Advisors and owning relationships with 3PB to maximise the productivity of our staffing investment, working to deliver optimal headcount. Work with stakeholders to develop auditable process on payment to deliver to target and within budget.
  • Development of a business-aligned, customer-centric retail proposition that delivers business goals and targets across Beauty and in 3rd party beauty brands.
  • Supporting in the delivery of operating plan and customer targets.
  • Ongoing focus on driving innovation and performance improvement to deliver additional customer and business benefits.

Who you are

This role is best suited to candidates who have a proven track record in commercial and operational roles in Retail both in Stores and Head Office.

Your skills and experience will include:

  • Understanding of end to end Retail, Space, Store Design and Property functions. Commercial acumen and drive to improve productivity of our retail space and service investment.
  • Leading and motivating yourself and others to deliver high quality results on time and to budget. Responsive, decisive with the ability to deliver solutions despite ambiguity, obstacles and complexity.
  • Data driven with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to turn findings into executable plans.
  • Planning, project and change management skills.
  • Confident, sound decision-making, ability to challenge and credible influencing skills with the ability to work under pressure with pace and successfully prioritise to get the plan and results delivered.
  • Strong stakeholder and partner engagement & relationship management.
  • Gravitas, impact and ability to communicate effectively at all levels - internal and external, with brand management experience preferable.
  • Continually ensure personal behaviour reflects the vision and values of the business.
