More about the role

In Radcliffe, we are really lucky to work with incredibly loyal volunteers and the local community who are vital in supporting our store. With regular customers and quality donations, we have the recipe for success - we just need you!

As a Standby Shop Assistant, you will use your experience in retail and play a crucial role in our shops daily operations. Working with our Shop Manager and Assistant Shop Manager, you will be confident serving your community and helping lead and motivate our team of volunteers. You can expect to manage incoming donations along with supervising and supporting our volunteers with the daily operations of the store.

Our shops open Monday to Saturday from 09:00 to 17:00. This role is on a zero hours contract where there are no guaranteed working hours in a week but hours will be agreed based on business need - flexibility is key for this role. Weekend and bank holiday working may be required.

Internally this role is known as a Standby Shop Assistant.

About you

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience working in a retail environment.
  • Is proficient in cash handling and reconciliation.
  • Has supervisory experience.
  • Thrives in a customer-facing environment.
  • Possesses computer literacy and administration skills.

It would also be great if you have experience:

  • Managing volunteers.
