Retail Assistant

Wise Employment are currently recruiting for a Retail Assistant for a family owned and run business in the Plymouth area with branches across the South West and is one of the leading independent electrical retailers in the South West.

Selling a huge range of electrical products, ranging from washing machines, fridge freezers and cookers to TVs and air fryers to heating, fires and lights you will be responsible for a wide range of sales within the electrical industry. The largest sector within this would be white goods and/or large kitchen appliances.

Wise Employment are seeking someone who is confident and professional with a sales background who can offer support and guidance to customers and colleagues alike. We are looking for someone who can join the team and strengthen an already strong and confident sales team.

Dealing mostly with the public, as a Retail Assistant, you will need a friendly and approachable demeanour but you will also be serving commercial contracts and customers too.

Hours of work will be between 8:30am and 5:30pm Monday to Saturday with a day off during the week.

Offering a salary of £24,870 with benefits including free or subsidised travel, company events, store discount and free onsite parking.

As Retail Assistant you will be responsible for:

1. Answering calls and emails as well as dealing with customers face to face to answer any queries.
2. Manage any queries, feedback or escalations with manufacturers or third party companies.
3. Create an open dialogue through strong relationships within the key departments throughout the company to deliver and develop the front line customer experience.
4. Deal with day to day administration tasks.
5. Optimise branch performance by continually improving customer experiences.
6. Proactively and demonstrably contribute to Customer Service initiatives as advised by the Management Team.
7. Continuous training will be provided but all applicants must show a willingness to learn to promote independent working and also to develop product and procedural knowledge quickly.
