Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Physiologist to join our team in Hertfordshire. The successful candidate will play a crucial role for the duration of 17 weeks in conducting clinical assessments, monitoring patient respiratory function, and contributing to ongoing clinical research. This position requires a strong understanding of respiratory physiology and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Duties
  1. Conduct comprehensive respiratory assessments using advanced techniques, including microscopy and patient monitoring.
  2. Ensure compliance with FDA regulations and maintain high standards of safety and quality in all procedures.
  3. Utilize statistical software such as R and SAS for data analysis and interpretation of clinical research findings.
  4. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans based on assessment results.
  5. Participate in clinical research projects, contributing to the design, execution, and analysis of studies related to respiratory health.
  6. Provide education and support to patients regarding their respiratory conditions and treatment options.
  7. Maintain accurate records of patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes in accordance with organizational policies.
Qualifications
  1. A degree in Physiology, Biomedical Science, or a related field is essential.
  2. Must be RCCP / AHCS Registered.
  3. Experience in clinical research is highly desirable.
  4. Proficiency in programming languages such as SystmOne is advantageous.
  5. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex information clearly to patients and colleagues.
  6. A commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with advancements in respiratory physiology.
  7. Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not mandatory.
Requirements
  1. Experienced in OSA patient management.
  2. Ability to interpret Multichannel sleep study and pulse oximetry automated reports.
  3. CPAP set up and troubleshooting.
  4. CPAP mask changes.
  5. Compliance data - interpretation.
  6. Patient engagement and long term of OSA with CPAP.
  7. Good communication skills.
  8. Presenting to patient groups.
  9. Clinic based work - Hemel Hospital or Harpenden Hospital.
  10. Good documentation.
  11. Good data entry skills into Excel.
