Job description

Adecco are pleased to be recruiting for a Resource Management Planner to join Devon & Cornwall Police force.

Based at either Middlemoor, Exeter or Crownhill, Plymouth. This role is fully office based. Working Monday - Friday, with weekend working Saturday or Sunday every 5 weekends. £13.53 per hour. Temporary initially until January 2026.

The role:

To deliver effective resource plans for operational policing in order to meet the complex needs of a variety of business areas. In particular to:

  1. Maintain staffing levels for day to day policing activities, and for planned/spontaneous operations.
  2. Accurately record data in appropriate Force IT Systems to enable the production of effective resource plans.
  3. Act as first point of contact for resource management enquiries.
  4. Support the maintenance of the organisational skill base.
  5. Produce reports and analysis to assist managers with future resourcing decisions.
  6. Present and explain plans as required to relevant managers.
Experience Required:
  1. A sound understanding of resource management and planning including an understanding of relevant IT systems.
  2. Knowledge of Police Regulations, Police Staff Handbook and Working Time Regulations.
  3. Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  4. Experienced MS Office user, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  5. Comfortable in working with large amounts of data and quickly identifying gaps/inconsistencies.
  6. Proven ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  7. Strong negotiation skills.

Please note, due to Police Criteria you must have lived in the UK for at least the last 5 years continuously. Anything less will not be considered.
