Job description

My client is seeking a Residential Conveyancer to join their well-established and well-known office in Woodford, London.


You will be dealing with a range of residential property transactions (including sales, purchases, transfers, and remortgages) and will be well supported by the Paralegal and Legal Secretary. The firm focuses on high-quality service over quantity of transactions and does not have a 'high volume' business model.


The team has established connections with local estate agents, and they are therefore looking for someone who is engaged and confident with networking and other marketing/business development activities.


The Role
  1. Interviewing clients, taking instructions, and keeping detailed file notes.
  2. Maintaining file checklists.
  3. Reviewing compliance documentation and analyzing source of funds evidence for AML.
  4. Assessing quality of work undertaken.
  5. Issuing client care letters.
  6. Drafting or considering contract packages.
  7. Raising enquiries.
  8. Submitting appropriate searches.
  9. Drafting title, mortgage, and search reports.
  10. Acting for mortgage lenders.
  11. Conducting exchanges of contracts.
  12. Agreeing form of transfer deeds and raising requisitions.
  13. Completing matters on schedule.
  14. Advising clients as to the progress of matters and costs.
  15. Maintaining an adequate and up-to-date knowledge of the law and practice.
  16. Checking all draft documents.

The Ideal Candidate
  1. Be a qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive, or Licensed Conveyancer.
  2. Have previous experience and ideally experience in the local property market.
  3. Have a Law degree; or hold a CILEx Professional Qualification (CPQ).
  4. Be IT literate and confident in using and adapting to new systems and processes.
  5. Exercise high standards of client care in a professional and pleasant manner at all times.
