Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people? We're looking for dedicated Children's Residential Practitioners to join a Children's Secure Service in the Perth area, supporting 12-18-year-olds with complex needs and challenging behaviours. In this role, you'll create a nurturing and supportive environment where young people can develop life skills, build confidence, and foster resilience.

Shift Patterns: 1 long day, 2 days off - 7am until 10pm (opportunity to pick up extra shifts over and above pattern)

Responsibilities:
  1. Build positive, trusting relationships with young people, supporting their emotional and social development.
  2. Ensure the safety and well-being of all children and young people, adhering to safeguarding procedures.
  3. Implement care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour management strategies.
  4. Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, engaging with social workers, healthcare professionals, and other key stakeholders.
  5. Support young people in education, activities, and daily routines.
  6. Manage challenging behaviours using trauma-informed and de-escalation approaches.
  7. Accurately record and report on young people's progress and incidents.

To be considered for the Residential Practitioner role, ideally you will have:
  1. 1+ years experience of working within a children's residential setting, youth offending, mental health or secure setting.
  2. HNC/SVQ/Youth Work qualification would be highly desirable.
  3. Understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed care, and behavioural management.
  4. Ability to remain calm under pressure and effectively manage challenging situations.
