A 3-year Research Technician post is available at the MRC Laboratory of Medical Sciences (LMS) within the Metabolism in Immunity, Cancer and Ageing (MICA) group headed by Nazma Malik. The LMS is a world-class research laboratory where scientists and clinicians collaborate to advance the understanding of biology and its application to medicine. Funded by the MRC as part of UK Research and Innovation, the LMS has a collaborative working culture and a new state-of-the-art building based in the heart of West London in the Hammersmith Hospital Campus.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative technician with a background in biochemistry, cell biology, cancer, metabolism, and/or immunology to join the MICA group. In this role, you will assist in developing tools and experimental approaches to investigate the impact of AMPK metabolic pathways on immunity and tumour immune responses in human cell cultures and animal models.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

The ideal candidate should possess extensive experience in molecular cloning, Crispr/Cas9 methods, and biochemical techniques. In vivo experience would be an advantage. You should have strong organizational skills to assist with general lab maintenance and the ability to collaborate effectively within the MRC-LMS and with external partners when required. The successful candidate should have a degree in an appropriate subject, research experience, and the ability to organize time effectively, prioritize, and work to deadlines.
