An exciting opportunity for a Research Nurse or Clinical Research Practitioner (CRP) to join full time - UCLH/UCL Queens Square Multiple Sclerosis Centre in supporting the Octopus MS for 12 months in the first instance.
Do you want to provide exceptional care and be involved in providing state-of-the-art treatments to patients? We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Research Nurse (CRP) to become part of the team at UCLH. Octopus is a first-of-its-kind clinical trial for progressive MS which is looking to test potential treatments up to three times faster than normal. We are looking for an individual with excellent communication and organisational skills with attention to detail.
The post holder will be supported by the Research Manager and the Senior Research Nurse within the unit, and the role is ideal for highly motivated individuals who are keen to develop their career in Clinical Research Nursing/Clinical Trials. The post holders will work in close collaboration with the Principal Investigator and Research Support Staff, to ensure compliance with Trust Policy, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Human Tissue Act (HTA), and trial-specific protocols.
You will play a key role in the successful delivery of the Octopus trial. You will provide specialist skills and knowledge to coordinate and manage the day-to-day activities in Octopus and be responsible for providing high-quality research. Your main responsibility will be ensuring the recruitment of patients, completion of trial-related activities, and reliable data collection as per protocol requirements in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Research Governance, and local Trust policies for research. You will be required to plan and manage your own workload effectively and demonstrate effective time management and prioritisation. A proactive, flexible, and solution-oriented approach is essential. The ability to work autonomously but in collaboration with others is essential. Strong communication and organisational skills are also essential.
The post is based at The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, with links to the Department of Neuroinflammation at UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology. It is part of a well-established multi-disciplinary clinical and research team at Queen Square Multiple Sclerosis Centre.
