About Our Client

A well-respected public affairs agency focusing on policy development and analysis to support strategic decision-making. The role is based in London, where the successful candidate will be working 3 days a week with a dedicated team to drive impactful policy changes.

Job Description

  • My client is seeking an Economist/Researcher to support the production of evidence and data-based content for its clients, translating the economics into reports and evidence pieces that are both publicly and politically salient, are media-friendly, and inform and influence political debate across a range of policy issues and trends.
  • In terms of the research production, familiarity with working with quantitative datasets and statistical analysis, most often from government and industry sources is key: e.g. ONS industry datasets (public spending, jobs, growth, productivity etc); and also public attitudes polling.
  • Excel proficient and using data and research to construct readable, communications-friendly research outputs.
  • Communication and presentation skills are also vital: able to use the research process and findings to present to and advise clients; also to produce and present media-friendly content for public audiences and to help create persuasive arguments to policymakers.
  • The successful applicant will report directly to the Associate Director, who heads the economics and research function for my client.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Research Manager should be a trained UK economist with experience of economic modelling in government or in the private sector.
