Job Description:

You'll have the task of creating an R&D team within an amazing SME as they bring it in-house. You'll have the chance to innovate, the power to lead, and the opportunity to shape something truly groundbreaking.

You'll start with a blank slate and build your own technical and R&D department from the ground up. You’ll have the freedom to hire, shape processes, and implement your vision for a high-performing team that drives real innovation. This unique wireless fire safety system is revolutionising the industry. With no reliance on existing infrastructure, the mesh network technology provides unmatched flexibility and reliability – and you’ll be at the forefront of it. These solutions are used on some of the most high-profile construction and shipbuilding projects in the UK and beyond.

Your work will directly contribute to protecting lives and assets in dynamic, high-risk environments. Say goodbye to red tape and endless approvals. Here, you’ll have the freedom to challenge the norm, implement fresh ideas, and drive meaningful change without unnecessary bureaucracy holding you back.

With plans to take the product international, you'll have the opportunity to play a key role in expanding into European and US markets. This is your chance to be part of an exciting global journey. Relocate to the beautiful South Coast in Bournemouth and enjoy a fantastic work-life balance by the sea.

Support with a relocation package will make the transition seamless. This isn’t just a job – it’s a purpose. The company is passionate about saving lives and livelihoods, and seeks someone who shares this drive and commitment to making a difference.

Initially the focus will be on supporting the existing radio fire alarm system, including any bug fixing, regression testing and minor improvements as well as technical support for the engineers on site. The role will also include supporting the production team during third party factory audits. You'll identify additional skills needed in the team and recruit to an agreed plan.

Objectives of being in this role:
  • Set-up and kit-out a test lab
  • Build a regression tester
  • Provide technical support for engineers
  • Bug-fixing
  • Cultivate good working relationships with the sub-contract R&D teams

  • A leader with a vision, ready to build, mentor, and inspire a team.
  • A confident communicator who can bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Someone eager to break free from corporate monotony and embrace autonomy and responsibility.
