Job Summary
An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen to appoint R&D/IBD Assistant Management Accountant to work with the IBD Research team. Your work will involve supporting the Inflammatory Bowel Disease trials portfolio (both non-commercial and commercial) and the IBD team. This will include invoicing for contractual clinical trial activity and funds transfers from third parties that are recovered and correctly allocated to the relevant cost centres.
You will have an accounting background and be able to work under pressure, functioning independently and as part of a research team. You will need the capacity to manage competing demands and the ability to build and maintain working relationships with a variety of different staff. Accounting experience and MS Office skills, particularly in preparing reports in Word and using Excel for data with different formulae, are essential, along with some level of experience working in Clinical Research related areas.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 1 year in the first instance.
Main Duties of the Job
The key focus of this post will be the monitoring of transactions of variances/misallocations and implementing any adjustments required to income & expenditure records, together with ensuring that all contractual income from clinical trial activity and funds transfers from third parties are recovered by invoice and correctly allocated to the relevant cost centres.
The R&D IBD Assistant Management Accountant will hold regular reviews with the Operations Lead IBD Research Services to support intelligence gathering and resolving queries. This will include the provision of information, analysis, and support in interpreting their reports and collating information to assist in the development of robust reporting.
The key skills required are those for interpreting, processing, and analysing data using Microsoft Office, interrogating various regulatory clinical trial documents for preparation of trial costings, and informing trial patient activity records and invoice generation, all of which requires a proven working knowledge of the accounting principles involved and analysis and interpretation of clinical trial documentation. This successful person must hold an excellent and proven working knowledge of Excel, Word, ORACLE, and Access.
