This is an exempt position reporting to the Director of Research Operations. This position is responsible for sponsored research compliance and related communications for the department. A successful candidate will possess strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to multitask. Usually works with minimum supervision, conferring with superior on unusual matters. Employees in this classification typically analyze, compare, and evaluate various courses of action and have the ability to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities.

Minimal Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, law and/or a technical field.
Experience:
Minimum two (2) years’ Higher Education experience. 4-5 years’ experience in Higher Education specific to Sponsored Research may be substituted for education requirement.
• Exceptional skills in interpersonal communication, poise, and professionalism.
• Ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals and skills in effectively managing personnel (individually and in teams), fiscal resources, and meetings.
• Advanced knowledge of OMB Uniform Guidance (UG) regulations and grant funding policies and procedures.
• Demonstrated commitment to a diverse and inclusive workforce and work environment.
• Remain current in research administration policies and procedures and render recommendations regarding policies and procedures pertaining to Research administration, as necessary.
