The Role

The primary role of the research associate is to support across a wide range of business activities pertaining to the delivery of retained search mandates. Working closely with a partner/director in the business, you will ensure that search mandates are delivered to the highest standard through:


  • Providing research services to facilitate execution of searches and business development activities.

  • Coordinating both internally and externally to reach agreed timelines on searches, with a strong focus on client service.

  • Tracking market developments relating to people and companies, and identify opportunities for business development.

  • Conducting telephone calls to executives and market sources to obtain and validate relevant information.

  • Producing well written search reports and other collateral, predominantly for use by clients

  • Contributing to the investigation, recommendation, introduction and development of new research services and methodologies.

  • Providing general assistance to Directors and Partners in the business across all business activities where required.



Candidate Requirements
The Research Associate role is an entry level position and is therefore open to candidates with limited work experience as well as candidates who have worked in other industries and are keen to move in to executive search. In order to be successful in the role you will have:

  • Exceptional organisational skills. You can manage a very complex workload on behalf of others and set up your own systems/processes to facilitate that.

  • Excellent writing skills. You enjoy writing copy and have meticulous attention to detail.

  • Customer/Client focus. You understand what great service is and get a kick out of pleasing clients.

  • Intellectual curiosity. You are hungry for knowledge and take it upon yourself to learn. You can quickly grasp new business and technology concepts.
