Research and Knowledge Exchange Manager

Location: Cirencester, GL7 6JS

Salary: Grade 8 - £37,099 to £44,262 per annum (Depending on experience)

Job Type: Permanent, full-time, 35 hours per week with flexible working options

The Role

The core role of the Research and Knowledge Exchange (KE) Manager will be to lead research, research consultancy, and KE support across the research project lifecycle, as well as leading the establishment of the University's portfolio of knowledge transfer activities. This will include making key decisions on the viability of grant resourcing and finances; contract drafting, review, and negotiation; improving the quality and delivery of research and KE support; as well as analysing and reporting to the University Executive on the extensive portfolio of research and KE activities across the University.

Skills and Qualifications

You will have a sound understanding of the UK higher education research funding system and demonstrable experience of working in a research environment, including managing the research project lifecycle and managing grant applications for large and complex grants (pre- and post-award).

In addition, you will have an excellent understanding and demonstrable experience of the knowledge exchange and impact environment, including experience of developing or the process of developing Knowledge Transfer Partnerships.

Strong project management, operational, and organisational skills are required, including technical skills to review and draft contracts and agreements. The role will require a high level of stakeholder engagement, both internally and externally, with excellent customer service practices and delivery of quality services, and the drive to deliver business improvements.
