Job Description

We're currently looking to hire a Credit Research Analyst to join Legal and General Asset Management's London Credit Research team.

Legal & General Asset Management actively manages over £70bn of corporate bonds. Globally there are over 20 credit research analysts supporting the fund managers with dedicated research on corporate credit quality, credit market trends and relative value. The London credit research team primarily monitors and forecasts the credit quality and outlook of UK and European companies and credit markets.

What you'll be doing:

  • Performing thorough fundamental credit and relative value analyses of companies in the Services and Industrials sectors. These analyses should result in alpha-generating recommendations on bonds and credit derivatives.
  • Communicating effectively with the portfolio managers to enhance investment performance of L&G Asset Management's active credit funds.
  • Building and maintaining good communication lines with key issuers, regulators, industry agencies, rating agencies, financial intermediaries and specialised research providers.
  • Present L&G Asset Management's credit research process and capabilities to pension fund consultants and institutional clients.
  • Promote L&G Asset Management's external profile at external meetings, conferences, briefings, etc.
  • Assist in the development of junior team members.
  • Remain compliant with all aspects of L&G Asset Management's Compliance Manual.
Qualifications

Who we're looking for:
  • Demonstrate strong investment experience in a credit analysis role across a range of credit markets (EUR, GBP and USD).
  • You'll have High yield, Investment Grade and/or emerging market experience.
  • Relevant corporate sector experience as well as current market knowledge is essential.
  • Understanding of ESG issues.
  • Solid understanding of corporate financial accounts.
  • Excellent numerical analysis.
  • Excellent PC literacy (Excel/Word etc) as well as Programming skills (VBA, Python, SQL).
  • Degree in Finance, mathematics or accounting but not essential.
  • SFA registration, CFA charterholder, Accountancy qualification would be nice to have but not essential.
