Job Title: Repair centre Lead Technician

Job Summary
Our client in Tewkesbury is a leading technology organisation seeking a talented individual to support with repairs and maintenance of the product range. Ideally, you will have a strong electronic background and hands-on repair experience as well as excellent communication skills to liaise with customers in a technical manner.
Specific Job Responsibilities
- Effective maintenance of the global internal repair logs whilst recognising the value of thorough data capture for continuous improvement.
- Standardise and document the repair process including creating videos & tutorials to reduce the time to repair.
- Train and educate remote repair technicians.
- Proactive communication with customers' repairs facilities to improve the quality of incoming fault reports and reduce the number of unnecessary returns.
- Thorough fault finding and diagnostics of product failures to component level.
- Administration of repairs in terms of goods receipt, sales orders & customer acknowledgment.
- Timely completion of high-quality product repairs & documentation.
- Always maintaining safe working practices e.g. soldering.
- Highlight repeat failure modes to engineering and management for continuous improvement.
- Monthly information sharing meeting with engineering.
- Support the incoming inspection of product from our sub-contractors.
- Timely creation of inspection reports & feedback to sub-contractors.
- Recognise direct link between incoming quality, field failures & repairs.
- Create & maintain a PAT testing schedule.
- Support continuous improvement through 5S.
- Undertake other tasks that may be reasonably required by the business.
Travel RequirementsVisits to our sub-contractors & Global repair facilities may be required.
Required Qualifications & Experience- Natural flair for problem solving & diagnostics of electronic circuits to component level.
- HNC or equivalent in electronics engineering would be desirable.
- IPC-A-610 certified & experience of electronics component handling.
- Experience of diagnostic equipment e.g. multi-meters & oscilloscopes etc.
- Experienced in the soldering of fine-pitch electronic components.
- Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
- MS Office tools experience.
