Remote Pilot

Role Overview
As a Remote Pilot, the primary responsibility is to conduct UAV flight operations safely and efficiently while upholding core values of safety, quality, people, and innovation. This role also involves supporting the implementation of training programs, assisting senior remote pilots, and contributing to the company's commitment to compliance and continuous improvement. The position can be based at either the Aberdeen or Grangemouth location.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct UAV operations in compliance with CAA regulations and the company's operational authority.
- Follow mission flight plans and execute operations in line with established procedures.
- Ensure UAVs are properly maintained during field operations.
- Complete all required flight documentation accurately and promptly.
- Capture and validate data in the field, ensuring quality and integrity.
- Carry out tasks in accordance with method statements, job risk assessments, and safety procedures.
- Stay updated on operational and safety protocols to ensure best practices are followed.
- Provide support to the Senior Remote Pilot and Chief Remote Pilot, assisting with operations as needed.
- Fulfil additional duties and assignments as directed by the Operations team.
Required Qualifications
- UK Remote Pilot Licence (A2CoFC / GVC).
- ASME Plant Inspector 1 (desirable).
- BOSIET (Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training).
- MIST (Minimum Industry Safety Training).
- OGUK Offshore Medical.
Experience
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role.
- At least 2 years' UAV experience.
- At least 1 year of Oil & Gas industry experience.
- At least 1 year of Visual Inspection experience (desirable).
- At least 1 year of experience in Surveying/Photogrammetry (desirable).
- At least 1 year of experience in the Renewable Energy sector (desirable).
- Proficiency in computer-based technologies and commercially available reporting software.
- Solid understanding of Client/HSE requirements for NDT inspections, procedures, risk assessments, and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health).
Technical Knowledge
- Strong understanding of UAV operations and procedures.
- Experience in drone data capture, particularly with the DJI fleet.
- Knowledge and experience in 3D photogrammetry data capture.
- Experience in terrestrial laser scanning.
- Familiarity with Elios and DI Scout UAVs for internal inspections.
- Qualifications in asset inspection (desirable).
